Croydon

I visited West Croydon earlier with my friend Naomi, our intention was to get costumes for a Halloween house party on Sunday (which i can't wait for) but as usual we ended up going round the shops for hours. I'd never been before so after a yummy KFC we got Naomi's hair extensions and set off on our search for the perfect outfits. Our problem was that we wanted to dress as angels, me as the good one in white and Naomi as the evil angel and there are no white dresses anywhere, plenty of black but no dress for me. I have to admit that i was kind of pleased because...well i need to confess something that is quite shocking especially for a fashion student, i don't own a dress. Since i arrived at uni my flat mates have given me make overs, backcombed my hair, slapped on fake tan and now i have bought a dress, i'm not very girly and like to play around with accessories mostly.

During our visit Naomi spent quite a bit on a H&M cape and 2 shirts, some fab heels from Topshop and a Halloween costume complete with wings and a wand which makes her look like a dominatrix and i ended up with some cheap cute but crippling shoes and a gold dress thing that you will notice there is no image for because it's going back to the shop.So all in all a successful day for Naomi (that doesn't mean her bank balance) but not really for me, so far i'm wearing wings, the determined to kill my feet shoes and i have a crown and a wand, still looking forward to the party though.

On the street style

Style really is ageless, this cream mock croc bag with its explosion d metal studs belongs to eighty two year old Shirley who regularly shops at local charity shops. I think this bag is so cute and adds a touch of glam, i would love one of these bags. Shirley pulls off this look with a simple beige trench coat and mid high heels meaning that her head to toe color blocking is very Chloe like and chic.
A shopping bag, an advert and a quirky statement, this bag is ideal for retired writer Margaret to fit her groceries into but it also makes her stand out. This brightly colored bag makes a statement and the fact that its really old and once belonged to her mother shows that you can still pull out some old gems that catch the eye.

Fantastic lace ups from New Look are perfect for wearing with jeans or leggings but Serena has opted for purple tights to jazz them up. I love her style and the fact that she is not afraid to try new things making her unique.

This amazing River Island bag is a chuck in your stuff and go style boost. Love the boxy shape (very popular right now) and the chain detail but the best feature of this bag for me is the contrasting textures , i adore the mock croc and snake skin handle mix.

Charlotte Olympia (Charlotte Dellal)

Quick facts

  • Charlotte Dellal is half Brazilian and half English
  • She graduated from Cordwainers
  • Charlotte Olympia shoes are a hit with Kate Moss and Sienna Miller
  • Charlotte Olympia's signature is courts with island platforms
I adore Charlotte Olympia's towering heels and the references to '40's and '50's glamour
in the designs. The bright colors and vivid prints add to the allure, for a pair of Charlotte Olympia shoes hit Dover Street Market, Harvey Nic's or the new retail store at 56 Maddox Street, you won't be able to resist.

On the street style

Everywhere you look these days women are wearing little black boots because they are cute, comfy and go with anything. Naomi's lace up chunky heel boots on the left are from Topshop and Vix has opted for New Look distressed leather boots. There are so many styles out there which proves that the little black boot is and always will be a stylish staple.
I love it when clothes or accessories just appear, Jade's mum sent her this amazing hat in Camel (loved by Chloe and Celine, camel is huge for a/w 10-11). The hat arrived this morning and it was found at a car boot sale, it's perfect for adding understated glam to a day outfit.

Brick Lane

The weekend was great, me and a few friends went
to Brick Lane and I'd never been before so i really enjoyed the experience. It wasn't the easiest place to find but there were sooooo many people there that it was clear from the moment we arrived that the atmosphere would be electric.

Browsing through the vintage stalls there were literally hundreds of garments and shoes that I could have bought if I'd had enough money, I did manage to get the cash for three tops, a scarf, a jacket and a bracelet (parents not pleased that I spent all the
money they sent the day before).

The smells and the sounds were incredible and for me it made Brick Lane special and unique. Everyone seemed to have their finger on the fashion pulse and the range of outfits went from wonderful and wacky to casual or chic. I will definitely go back (probably every week) and if you've never been get yourself to
Brick Lane pronto it's the best place to be and check
out the vibrant galleries and bars.

This antique shop satchel bag is right on the money with buckles and prominent stitching gives a masculine touch to a feminine dress or opt for leather and jeans like Sophie. The bag is practical and an easy way to add edge to your outfit.

So simple yet soooooo effective, Jess tied this silky blue and red scarf from TKMaxx around her head in seconds and it transformed her look. I am really into little details like this that especially when they make a big impact.

Everyday style

Simple yet chic wear with everything boots from LK Bennett. I love how Jenny
wears her boots with over the knee socks a la Prada and compliments the boots with
a colorful skirt making her look cute, stylish and a reflection of her personality.
Whats not to love about this gem colored bag from the genius that is Marc Jacobs.
Practical, versatile and stunning the handbag uses zips and studs to draw attention
without over doing it. I love, love, love Marc Jacobs.
